U.S. Ambassador and Hyperdynamics Meet with President Lansana Conte

CONAKRY, Guinea--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 4, 2006--Hyperdynamics Corp. (Amex: HDY - News) announced today that the Hyperdynamics team and the United States Ambassador to the Republic of Guinea, Jackson McDonald, met with the president of the republic, Lansana Conte, to discuss the development of U.S. commercial and diplomatic interests in Guinea. The ambassador expressed the United States' continued desire to strengthen relations with the Republic of Guinea, including through commercial projects such as those advanced by Hyperdynamics. He reiterated continued U.S. support for security and stability in Guinea and West Africa.

On March 17 the company signed a protocol letter, signed by Minister Souare, the minister of mines and geology. Souare agreed to replace the 2002 Production Sharing Agreement with a new contract. The protocol calls for Minister Souare to sign the 2006 PSA and issue all drilling permits necessary for SCS to begin its drilling programs; receive a decree signed by President Lansana Conte; and obtain a Projet Les Loi from the national parliament.
