Il suo peso nei portafogli degli hedge fund era 1,1%, per un valore di 8 miliardi di dollari. Da dicembre a marzo ha registrato a Wall Street una performance del 9%. Fra gli hedge che avevano Facebook come top buy (titolo più comprato) ci sono Citadel Advisors e Viking Global Investors.

Per P&G, che è il più grande inserzionista pubblicitario del mondo, la pubblicità mirata di Facebook ha avuto un'efficacia limitata.

P&G non taglierà comunque la quota su Facebook, ma limiterà il ricorso alla pubblicità mirata

FB, negli anni, ha investito molto nei programmi di selezione delle abitudini dei suoi utenti, con lo scopo di offrire agli inserzionisti uno strumento efficiente di targeting.

La pubblicità mirata è più costosa e quindi porta maggiori guadagni. Se anche altra compagnie seguissero questo trend le entrate per FB potrebbero diminuire...
 
Facebook has acquired Nascent Objects, a small California startup founded in 2014 that focuses on creating a modular electronics system that consumers could use to build their gadgets, using reconfigurable components including batteries, camera, sensors and more. The startup worked with design firm Ammunition (also responsible for the design of Beats products pre-Apple acquisition) to create its original products prior to being picked up by Facebook.

Facebook launches Marketplace to let you buy and sell items with nearby users


Facebook is getting more deeply involved in e-commerce with the launch of Marketplace, its new user-to-user exchange for buying and selling goods with others in your community. The company says Marketplace — which launches this week in the US, UK, Australia, and New Zealand — is an evolution of an existing behavior on the social network. Up to 450 million people already use Facebook to buy and sell used goods every month, mainly through its groups feature, according to project manager Bowen Pan. With Marketplace, Facebook is now giving users a more formal process to conduct these exchanges.

This e-commerce territory is fertile ground for Facebook. The company does not plan on charging a fee to conduct transactions, which gives it an edge over those competing services. Instead, Facebook gains what it has always been most hungry for: users’ precious eyeballs and more of their time each and every day. If people start turning to Marketplace, especially just to browse for stuff they may or may not need, that’s another way to keep people hooked on the company’s mobile app and in turn drive advertising earnings.
