Un'altra simpatica storia è quella di due broker che operavano nel settore CFD/FX in Gran Bretagna, cioè SVS Securities e AFX Markets, entrambi finiti in "amministrazione speciale" nell'agosto 2019, uno per sospette irregolarità e l'altro per difficoltà finanziarie (una storia di soldi che sparivano: "the CySEC has announced that “a material amount” of client funds is missing at the
Cyprus parent. There has to be a concern that this could be a repeat of the failure of Worldspreads where the firm failed, and there was a shortfall of millions of pounds of client money...", racconta un
articolo dove si possono leggere i dettagli). Il Fondo di compensazione UK, si spiega in un'intervista, interviene anche in questi casi:
the FSCS covers the non-segregated funds of elective professional clients?
“The short answer is yes, the FSCS covers eligible claimants (mainly individuals and small corporate clients) and has nothing to do with the client’s classification whether they be retail or professional”
"Last week, the
Cyprus regulator Cysec said its initial view suggests that there is likely to be a material deficit in the client money. In addition, special administrators of AFX’s UK arm disclosed to the FCA that the company was in terrible financial difficulty. While the company had originally held £7.8 million in client money, it has only £460,000 in its UK bank accounts."
A un anno di distanza (estate 2020) dei fondi spariti a Cipro ancora
nessuna notizia!
"On the downside, despite attempts to obtain information regarding the funds held in the AFX Capital Markets Ltd’s account from the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC), the Cypriot regulator has yet to confirm any tangible information in this matter to the administrators.
“It is unlikely that there will be any realisations from this source to the benefit of clients in this Administration”, the administrators state in their latest report. However, further enquiries will be made to CySEC."
