Cambi: dollaro in rialzo contro euro e yen

(Teleborsa) - Roma, 5 dic - La moneta unica in avvio di settimana, si conferma debole nei confronti del biglietto verde, scambiando sotto quota 1,17 dollari, dopo aver perso ulteriormente terreno nella seduta di venerdì, in seguito alla diffusione del dato sugli occupati non agricoli Usa, del mese di novembre.
Il cross eur/usd al momento scambia a 1,1693 usd (1,1697 il riferimento Bankitalia della vigilia). Intanto il cross dollaro/yen si attesta a 121,24 usd.
In agenda oggi, è prevista la diffusione del dato sull'Ism non manifatturiero statunitense di novembre (alle 16:00 italiane).

A report from the Semiconductor Industry Association, which uses a three-month rolling average in its data, said global chip sales rose to $20.05 billion for the October period, up 6.8% from a year earlier.

Actual October sales rose 6% to $18.29 billion, while unit shipments rose 14%, according to reports written by several Wall Street analysts whose firms pay the association for proprietary data.

Revenue growth lagged unit growth considerably because of weak pricing in the market for semiconductors and several other types of chips, these analysts wrote.

Microprocessor sales fell 8% to $1.95 billion, while sales of the most widely-used type of memory chips for PCs fell 12% from a year ago, according to a report written by analyst David Wong at the investment bank A.G. Edwards & Sons Inc.

According to Wong, those numbers suggest that Intel, the world's largest maker of microprocessors, is unlikely to raise its revenue forecast when it provides a financial update next week, as two other Wall Street analysts had speculated earlier this week.

"Weak microprocessor sales suggest to us relatively little likelihood that Intel might raise guidance" on Dec. 8, Wong wrote.

Another analyst wrote in a report to clients that the association's October data cast doubt on a chip stock rally that has seen the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index (SOX:

"Our main takeaway is that the recent semi rally is not justified by any significant fundamental improvement," in the chip market, wrote analyst James Covello of Goldman Sachs.

"Average sale prices remain weak, and we expect continued weakness into 2006 due to excess (factory) capacity and tough (year-over-year) comparisons," Covello wrote.

Io Ho Cercato Su Cbs E Altri Motori Usa U Stm Non Esce Nulla! La Cosa Bella E' Che Tutti Si Potevano Immagine Che Le Stop Le Avrebebro Messe In Area 15.73 E Appena Molla Il Titolo Ekko La Voce Il Rumors. Cmq Intel Raramente Ha Fatto Accordi Con Terze Societa, E Di Solito Ha Sempre Privilegiato Le Societa' Israeliane.

- Guadagno su STM circa 7% al netto delle commissioni
- Domani parto per il ponte di S.Ambrogio e quindi posso operare, diciamo fino alle 16.45 di domani
- Non so se vendere o lasciare tutto li e vedere cosa è successo al mio ritorno lunedi mattina prossimo....

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - Intel Corp., the world's largest chip maker, plans to invest more than $1 billion in India to strengthen its research and development and invest in telecoms and technology start-ups, its chairman said on Monday.

California-based Intel has a development center in Bangalore, India's technology hub, which designs and develops software to power chips that drive computers and high-end networks for Internet-based applications.

It has already invested $700 million in Asia's third-largest economy over the past decade and provided venture funding worth more than $100 million to 40 firms such as computer trainer NIIT Ltd. and telecoms software firm Sasken Communication Technologies Ltd. .

"We will grow our local operations, boost venture capital investments and work closely with the government, industry and educators," Chairman Craig Barrett told reporters.

Barrett, on his seventh visit to India, said $800 million would be invested over the next five years to expand research and development at Bangalore in addition to marketing, education and community programs.

The Bangalore center, opened in 1998, has 2,800 employees.

Intel is among a long list of firms that have set up huge outsourcing operations in India, which have become the driving force of a $17.2 billion software services industry.

VENTURE FUND

The firm will also create a $250 million India-specific venture fund to invest in start-ups focusing on mobile communications, broadband applications and mobile commerce.

se vi ricordate 10 giorni fa intel aveva fato un accordo con microm, e stm e altri chip avevan aperto in gap down. ora mi sembra strano che intel faccia accordi su stm, presubilmente su un settore che aveva gia fatto accordi prima.....per me mi sa di bufala vedremo
