Premuda settles aframax sales
November 2nd, 2015 Nicola Capuzzo Nicola Capuzzo Europe, Tankers 0 comments
There’s a happy ending for the sale of two aframax tankers by Premuda of Italy. As anticipated by Splash a week ago, the Genoa-based shipping company has just signed a contract to sell both the Minerva Antarctica and Minerva Atlantica for a price close to $57m with bareboat charters back to the current Greek charterer, Minerva, for five years at $11,500 per day. The buyer is a financial investor and specifically an investment fund called MC Capital while the delivery of both the vessels is scheduled before Christmas.
This double sale from Premuda follows the FPSO Four Rainbow divestment and also the sale of the aged tanker Four Moon which is still to be completed.
Furthermore, with reference to some press rumours concerning the existence of negotiations about a merger plan and/or industrial concentration between Premuda and Augustea, Premuda told Splash that there are no ongoing or planned negotiations. Premuda is in the midst of a large restructuring.
