The Board of Directors has also announced a seven-for-one stock split. Each Apple shareholder of record at the close of business on June 2, 2014 will receive six additional shares for every share held on the record date, and trading will begin on a split-adjusted basis on June 9, 2014.


Praticamente chiunque acquista entro la chiusura del 2 Giugno riceverà n.6 azioni in più a quella posseduta (quindi 6+1)....e fino a qui ci siamo
La negoziazione con il nuovo valore delle azioni (1:7) inizierà il 9 Giugno.....quindi nei giorni di trattazione dal 3 al 6 gli scambi avverranno al prezzo attuale senza split fino a Venerdì 6...
Venerdì 6 Giugno APPL sarà a 700 $ (bel sogno)...di conseguenza Lunedì 9 le quotazioni partiranno da 100 $....e fin qui ci siamo
Per quelli che vendono il problema non sussiste se vendi entro il 6 ti pagano 1x700 se vendi dal 9 ti pagano 7x100....e fin qui ci siamo
Ma qui arriva il bello...quelli che comprano tra il 3 ed il 6 non hanno diritto allo split
Per ragionamento questi ultimi devono chiudere le posizioni entro il 6 altrimenti,non avendo diritto allo split perchè hanno acquistato dopo il 2,con cosa si ritrovano il 9???....1 x 100$!!!???

Di conseguenza,a causa di questo,la prossima ottava la quotazione del titolo come reagirà??!!
...e qui che non riesco a capire....c'è qualcuno più acculturato di me in materia di split?

Perfetto....sbarramento in area 628.10 ma credo che oggi sarà violata nuovamente e diventerà supporto....
Prossima resistenza (TARGET 1) area 640.00 ..per essere pignoli 635.85
Se dovesse nella prox settimana violare e mantenere la retta rossa superiore tratteggiata si spalancano le porte verso 702.10!!!

oggi pomeriggio ho smollato metà carico a 642, poi ho visto i max a 644,17 e ho storto il naso ma era ok...... son uscito e ritornato e vedo che sta 636... ho avuto kiu .... ok....

Penso che passate le vacanze estive ci sarà l imbarazzo della scelta a shortare....quando la Fed finirà di drogare il mercato.
Per il momento però la vedo ancora rosea...le trimestrali sono ancora buone per la maggior parte delle società....

According to Morgan Stanley, the top 100 institutional investors cut their holdings of Apple in the first quarter of 2014. Morgan Stanley also says that Apple is the only large cap technology company with institutional ownership less than its weight in S&P 500.

A fund manager does not put his job in danger by performing close to the S&P 500 index. The main difference right now is that Apple weighting in many funds is lower than its weighting in S&P 500.

For this reason, I rely heavily on a variety of other indicators that attempt to estimate under ownership or over ownership, not only among institutional investors but also among smaller money managers and retail investors. Institutions own about 62% of Apple stock. In comparison, institutions own about 87% of Google stock. In the case of Apple, in the past, retail investors and small money managers have been big contributors to the stock’s movement, therefore their positioning is important. The data we gather at The Arora Report continues to show that Apple is under owned now compared to summer of 2012 when Apple was trading at a similar price level.

Further in 2012 when Apple hit its peak at about $700, I figured that Apple was over owned by about 60-80% compared to a neutral weighting. The estimates now are that Apple ownership is 20-30% lower than a neutral weighting.


Apple is like a rocket with plenty of fuel sitting on a launch pad. Until there is a trigger to ignite the fuel, Apple stock is not going anywhere. The trigger may come in the form of a new product that engenders a big “wow.”

Riguardo all'outlook sui mercati, attenzione alle previsioni della divisione di ricerca di Bank of America Merrill Lynch, guidata da Michael Hartnett, che ha fatto circolare una nota in cui è scritto: "Stando al [Bank of America Merrill Lynch] Hedge Fund Monitor, gli speculatori hanno recentemente venduto l'indice SPX (S&P 500) a una posizione short netta. (Inoltre) gli short sull'indice Russell 2.000 sono al record in due anni, mentre i long sul Nasdaq sono al minimo in un anno".

Le posizioni "detenute in contanti sono elevate: il nostro sondaggio di maggio Fund Manager ha rivelato livelli di cash al 5%, al massimo in 2 anni, ben al di sopra del range considerato normale, tra 3,5-4,5%. La volatilità è morta. In questa settimana il VIX è sceso fino a 11,36, al secondo valore di chiusura più basso dal febbraio del 2007".

Bank of America prevede un'estate di guadagni, sulla scia di una "esuberanza irrazionale", seguita da una "brutta correzione in autunno".

Intanto l'analisi tecnica fissa 1.925,135 il livello di resistenza cruciale per l'indice S&P 500; supporto individuato a 1.914,925. Ieri il listino ha terminato la sessione al valore record di chiusura di 1.920,03 punti. (a dispetto del Pil Usa del primo trimestre, che è stato rivisto al ribasso a -1%, peggio delle attese, e che ha subito la prima contrazione dal 2011)

Cioè che cosa serve la data record date del 2 giugno? Ipotesi a chi tiene le azioni ininterrottamente fino alla chiusura del 6 vengono date sei azioni al valore di 1/7 della chiusura di lunedì, qualunque sia la quotazione di chiusura del venerdì? Boh

Io la pensavo più semplice. Il venerdì sera alla chiusura il valore (che ormai avrà raggiunto i 700!! ) viene frazionato in sette azioni da 100$ (sognar non costa nada....) ma mi disturba questa data del 2 giugno... Boh?

How does a 7-for-1 stock split actually work?
A 7-for-1 split means that six additional shares of stock are issued for each share in existence on the Record Date, June 2, 2014.

Here’s an example:
Let’s assume that as of the Record Date (June 2, 2014) an investor owns 100 shares of Apple common stock and that the market price of Apple stock is $490 per share, so that the investment in Apple is worth $49,000. Let’s also assume that Apple’s stock price doesn’t move up or down between the Record Date and the time the split actually takes place. Immediately after the split, the investor would own 700 shares of Apple stock, but the market price would be $70 per share instead of $490 per share. The investor’s total investment value in Apple would remain the same at $49,000 until the stock price moves up or down.

Are there any personal income tax consequences as a result of the stock split?
There will be no U.S. taxable income to U.S. residents as a result of the stock split. The tax basis of each share owned after the stock split will be 1/7th the amount it was before the split. For example, if you owned 100 shares before the split with a tax basis of $70 per share, after the split you would own 700 shares of stock with a tax basis of $10 per share. Foreign residents should consult their local tax advisors.

How will I receive the split shares?
If you hold shares in a brokerage account, the additional shares to reflect the split will be deposited into your account in the days following the Split Date (June 6, 2014). Contact your broker if you have any questions regarding timing. If you have a share certificate or hold your shares directly with Apple’s transfer agent, Computershare Investor Services, the post-split shares will be deposited in a book-entry position and Computershare will mail you a statement indicating the number of shares that you own following the split.
