Ecco la 68° Edizione del settimanale "Le opportunità di Borsa" dedicato ai consulenti finanziari ed esperti di borsa.
La settimana è stata all’insegna degli acquisti per i principali listini internazionali. Gli indici americani S&P 500, Nasdaq e Dow Jones hanno aggiornato i massimi storici dopo i dati americani sui prezzi al consumo di mercoledì, che hanno evidenziato una discesa in linea con le aspettative, con l’inflazione headline al 3,4% e l’indice al 3,6% annuo, allentando i timori per un’inflazione persistente. Anche le vendite al dettaglio Usa sono rimaste invariate su base mensile, suggerendo un raffreddamento dei consumi che hanno fin qui sostenuto i prezzi. Questi dati, dunque, rafforzano complessivamente le possibilità di un taglio dei tassi a settembre da parte della Fed (le scommesse del mercato sono ora per due tagli nel 2024). Glu Mobile and Sony Pictures Television International Announce Strategic Agreement for Mobile Games Distribution

SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Glu Mobile Inc. (Nasdaq:GLUU - News), a leading global publisher of mobile games, today announced a strategic distribution agreement with Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI). The agreement allows Glu to distribute a number of existing and new mobile games on behalf of SPTI in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Commenting on the agreement, Mike Wald, senior vice president, pay television and new media distribution, SPTI said: “This agreement with Glu is strategically important to us as we build our digital distribution business. Mobile content, including mobile games, is a core part of our business and we’re delighted to leverage Glu’s distribution expertise to extend the reach of our titles to mobile carriers around the world.”
The first title to be distributed under the new agreement includes the mobile game of the forthcoming movie, Hancock. The game was produced by SPTI and will launch in June. Glu will also distribute the new versions of the mobile hits, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, also produced by Sony. SPTI will continue to manage the development and production of SPTI’s slate of mobile games in line with signature Sony Pictures franchises.

Shares of Glu Mobile Inc. continued to slide after the mobile game maker posted a $56.9 million quarterly loss.
The San Mateo, Calif.-based publisher reported third quarter revenue of $23.9 million, up 44% from the same period last year, thanks largely to increased sales in Latin America and some European markets. But a $46.6 million charge for impairment of goodwill — a write-down of two of its three reporting units that were “determined to be below the carrying value of their respective goodwill balances” — led to the loss.
Glu also reported royalty payments of $1.9 million during the quarter as well as $126,000 in restructuring charges and “transitional expenses” of $347,000. The company lost $753,000 during the same period last year.
“We are disappointed in our results this quarter,” CEO Greg Ballard said during the earnings call, “and in our fourth-quarter outlook. The deteriorating economic conditions in the U.S. and increasingly to the other parts of the world have negatively affected our game sales this quarter. We expect these conditions to continue and these assumptions reflected fourth-quarter outlook. Moreover, even on those worldwide regions that are doing well in unit sales, our revenues are being impacted by the sudden and dramatic fluctuations in currency exchanges.”
The dire results come one day after solid quarterly results from Gameloft, which — like most mobile game makers — is betting heavily on high-end devices such as Apple Inc.’s iPhone to buoy a struggling segment.
Shares of Glu — which is widely viewed as a top-five player in the space — lost 16 cents, or 20%, following the news, settling at 65 cents per share by mid-day.
